Changelog

Edit Like a Pro with Our New Script Editor

We've completely rebuilt the script editing experience with a powerful new editor that lets you fine-tune every word, emotion, and sound in your podcast. Plus major improvements to interview workflows and audio quality.

The biggest update yet just landed. We've replaced the basic text editor with a professional-grade script editor that gives you precise control over every detail of your podcast. Think of it like moving from Notepad to a real editing suite.

New Features

Professional Script Editor

Your scripts now open in a rich editor built specifically for podcast production. Edit dialogue, adjust speaker assignments, and see your changes reflected in real-time with accurate word counts and duration estimates. The editor understands podcast structure, so section markers and formatting stay exactly where they should be.

Emotion Controls

Add emotional delivery cues to any line of dialogue. Type an opening parenthesis and choose from suggestions like "laughs," "excited," or "whispers" to give your AI voices natural expression. These emotion tags appear as colorful chips you can click to change or drag to reposition within your script.

Background Reaction Sounds

Bring conversations to life with natural reactions. Insert quick acknowledgments like "mm-hmm" or "yeah" during another speaker's line to create authentic back-and-forth dialogue. The editor makes it easy to place these overlays exactly where they belong.

One-Click Script Enhancement

Hit the new Enhance button to automatically enrich your entire script with emotion markers and natural reactions. This runs in the background using AI to analyze your content and add appropriate delivery cues throughout, then updates your editor when finished.

Interview invitation links now work forever. No more rushing to complete interviews before the link expires or dealing with broken URLs. Send the link and let participants respond on their own schedule.

Improvements

Smarter Section Recognition

The editor now recognizes every type of section in your podcast structure, from Q&A segments to interview blocks. Previously, some section types would merge together incorrectly, but now each segment maintains its distinct identity and handles transitions properly.

Better Transcript Quality

Switched to a more advanced transcription system that identifies different speakers automatically and produces cleaner text. Brand names and technical terms are also corrected using your original script as context, so "Buzzsprout" won't become "buzzspout" anymore.

Locked Interview Content

When your script includes interview segments, those sections are now protected from accidental edits. You'll see a lock icon, and the content appears slightly dimmed to indicate it shouldn't be modified. This prevents you from accidentally changing interview responses that need to stay authentic.

Simplified Audio Pipeline

Rebuilt how we generate and combine audio segments behind the scenes. The system now processes audio more reliably and includes all your custom elements like intro music and transition sounds in the correct order every time.

Personality Editor Fixes

Fixed an issue where interview-based and fictional persona forms would sometimes show empty fields instead of loading saved information. The editors now check multiple data locations to ensure your persona details always appear correctly.

Bug Fixes

Emotion Suggestions Appearing

Fixed a problem where the emotion suggestion dropdown wouldn't appear when you typed an opening parenthesis or clicked the insert button. The autocomplete now triggers reliably wherever your cursor is positioned in the dialogue.

Correct Audio Duration

Resolved issues with audio processing that could cause episodes to have long stretches of silence at the end. Your published episodes now play correctly from start to finish with the proper runtime.
