Mato turns industry news into finished podcast episodes. This guide walks you through account creation, onboarding, and workspace setup so you can start producing right away.

By the end, you will have a workspace with a team, a plan, and a clear path to your first episode.

Create your account

Go to heymato.com/auth/sign-up and fill in your email, name, company name, and password.

Sign-up form

Click Continue. Mato sends a verification email to the address you entered. Open the email and click the confirmation link to activate your account.

Email verification screen

If the email does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder or click Resend email on the verification screen.

Walk through onboarding

After verifying your email, Mato walks you through a few short setup screens. Most are optional, so you can move through them quickly.

Use case and attribution

The first two screens ask what you plan to use Mato for and how you heard about it. Both are optional. Select any tiles that apply, or skip straight through by clicking Continue.

Team or personal

Choose whether you are setting up Mato for a team or for personal use.

Team or personal selection

If you pick For team, a text field appears where you name your workspace (for example, your company or department name). This becomes your team's URL slug.

Team name entry

If you pick For personal use, Mato creates a personal workspace and skips the plan and invite steps.

Most users choose the team path. Personal accounts can always create a team later from the home screen.

Choose a plan

After naming your team, Mato shows three plans: Launch, Business, and Network.

Plan selection

  • Launch is built for your first podcast. It covers AI discussions, topic episodes, broadcast-quality audio, transcripts, cover art, and distribution to 150+ platforms.
  • Business adds live AI interviews, TikTok/Reels clips, voice cloning, ad insertion, and dedicated support.
  • Network is built for media networks running multiple shows with custom pricing. Click Get started on Network to request a call from the sales team.

See the pricing page for current rates. Click Get started on Launch or Business to enter your payment details through Stripe. After checkout, you can optionally invite teammates by email before landing in your workspace.

Invite teammates

If you chose the team path, Mato offers an optional step to invite collaborators. Enter their email addresses and choose a role (Member or Admin). You can skip this and invite people later from the Members page in your workspace settings.

Find your way around

After onboarding finishes, you land on your home screen.

Your Teams home screen

The home screen shows your teams, a Quick Tour banner, and a Create a Team button. Click your team name to enter the workspace.

Inside the team workspace, the left sidebar gives you access to:

  • Podcasts: your shows and episodes
  • Social Content: TikTok/Reels clips from your episodes
  • Talent: AI hosts and voice profiles
  • Settings: workspace configuration
  • Members: team access and roles
  • Billing: plan and payment management

If you are new, look for the onboarding checklist in the bottom-right corner. It tracks your progress through key setup tasks (creating a podcast, adding hosts, generating your first episode) and checks them off automatically as you complete each one.

The Quick Tour banner at the top of your home screen opens a guided walkthrough of the platform. You can dismiss it and come back to it anytime.

What to do next

Your workspace is ready. Here is the recommended order for your first session:

  1. Create your first podcast. Set up a show with the podcast creation wizard.
  2. Set up hosts and voices. Pick AI hosts from the talent directory and configure their voice and delivery style.
  3. Add content sources. Connect RSS feeds, paste article URLs, or upload documents to give Mato material to work with.
  4. Generate your first episode. Run episode generation, review the script, and render audio.

Each of these steps has its own guide in the Help Center.
